Rotary Club of Rourkela Queens was chartered on 10th May 2018 (Charter No. 89262) and is a part of Rotary International District 3261. It is the last all women’s club to be formed, as soon after Rotary International decided to have only all gender clubs.
The club started with a commendable strength of forty women of Rourkela. Entrepreneurs, educationists, home makers (we consider that to be one of the most challenging professions) joined as charter members with the individual desire to connect and collective passion to serve.
The club took its first baby steps in service and awareness soon after its take off by launching Minimise Use of Plastic campaign in its installation ceremony. There has been no looking back since then. Neki ki Dukaan, Empowerment through Education, Sports day and other contests at NirmaMunda School, Wash and Wins project at Kalyani Ray Mahavidyalay are some of our many endeavours.
In one year the club has grown into a homogeneous unit of likeminded women with a passion for fellowship and service. Along with undertaking deep impacting service projects, it has successfully organized some unique fundraisers that received overwhelming response and were hugely appreciated.
In the forthcoming second year, the club aims to continue on the path of fellowship and community service with increased zeal and fervor.
